Rambles in Mexico

Shayok Mukhopadhyay

We lived in Mexico for 8 1/2 years... Reading through your travelogue brought smiles to both our faces... we both felt that your perceptions were accurate and most amusing.

– Paul & Phyllis Harris

Apology

Soon as I finished writing about our second trip to Mexico, I put the two travelogues together under this ambitious banner, with hopes of further forays and more extensive explorations into this fascinating country. Besides its ample cultural and natural treasures, what interests me about Mexico is the contrast it poses against its northern neighbour, and its resemblances to India, where I've mostly lived, a full hemisphere away.

N.B. The names of most of the characters have been changed to protect the author from their wrath.
